Emmy award winning US talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will come to its end after its 19th season.

Ellen DeGeneres has decided to wrap up the show in 2022, saying "I need something new to challenge me" in an interview published in The Hollywood Reporter.

The high-profile comedian broke the news to her team on May 11.

Ellen unpacked her decision on Thursday's show with long-time friend and daytime talk show queen Oprah Winfrey.

Hitting our TV screens in 2003 and winning more than 60 Emmy awards "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will surely be missed.
