A woman has been charged following a disturbance at a Parramatta Park residence last night.
It will be alleged three people had been socialising at a Charles Street residence at around 9.30pm when a verbal argument arose between a woman and the 60-year-old male resident.
It will be further alleged that the situation escalated, resulting in the man sustaining a stab injury to the side of his chest.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to Cairns Hospital for further treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. The woman and another man allegedly left the unit on foot and were located a short time later by a Cairns Dog Squad crew.
A 52-year-old Mareeba woman was subsequently charged with one count of unlawful wounding and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this morning.
