Sometimes, we forget that there have already been seven incredibly entertaining and s*&%-your-pants scary seasons of American Horror Story.
When you think back to the very first season, that focused on a family living in a haunted house, you realise that the show has not only evolved in its subject matter but also, it's freakiness.
The previous season of the show, that focused on a Cult, gripped audiences and reminded them how far the show has come.
Now, it looks like an eighth season is underway and the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, has revealed not where it will be set, but WHEN!
Whilst speaking at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour in Pasadena, Ryan said that he would like to explore a futuristic storyline.
"All I'll say about it is I want to go to the future — still topical, but the future, which I've never done.
"I pitched it to [FX Chief] John Landgraf today right after his TCA panel, and he loved it, but he's asked me not to say what it is.
"I told him and he fell out of his chair with joy.
"I think people will like it; it's different from what we've done before, but I always try and do the opposite of what I've done on that show."
Will this be a sort of Black Mirror-esque future where technology warps reality?
Or the not-too-distant future where we simply just know more?
One thing we do know for sure is that Sarah Paulson, who's been in every season of American Horror Story since the second instalment, is coming back.
This new season is going to be VERY interesting!
