The Tatura 200 charity bike ride and walk was a great success!

The ride and walk, held back in November last year, raised more than $90,000 which will be distributed to local charities and organisations in the Goulburn Valley.

Last year marked the eleventh successful event, raising an accumulative total of $950,000.

Event Manager Georgia Vibert, said she was thankful to the local community

“Once again we had so much support from within the business and community to help make the day a success, over 60 volunteers, including many Tatura Milk staff provided help either as support on the day or in the lead up to the ride," she said.

A total of 320 riders and walkers participated in the event, which catered for participants at all levels of ability and fitness.

Riders had a choice of completing a 200km, 100km or 50km scenic ride that took in local orchards, dairy farms, country townships, the Goulburn River crossing and Waranga Basin.

The Marian Community, an organisation that supports and cares for
women and children affected by domestic violence, was the major recipient, receiving a cheque for $50,000.

Other organisations to receive funding included Give Me 5 For Kids, FamilyCare,
Goulburn Valley Health – Tatura Campus, Tatura CFA as well as many others.

Tatura Milk Industries and Bega Cheese donated $20,000 and also funded many of the costs associated with staging the ride.
