Young music fans went into overdrive on Tuesday when 15-year-old popstar JoJo Siwa performed at Melbourne's Eastland Shopping Centre. Seems simple enough… until you try and jam the capacity of Rod Laver Arena inside.
Don’t know who JoJo Siwa is? Here’s a rundown: JoJo rose to fame on Dance Moms alongside Maddie Zielger. She has a few songs, 6.8million subscribers on YouTube and a hair bow empire. Yep, that covers it.
It seems many people underestimated JoJo’s Australian following after an unprecedented 16,000 people showed up. Security were forced to push fans and their obliging parents out in the cold to watch the show on the big screen. It was so chaotic, the shopping centre will need to review their event procedures.
Even though many parents walked away with disappointed kids, luckily no one was injured.
