Taylor Swift Once Wrote About This Perth Venue In Her Diary And Now They Could Knock It Down

Hello, we can only assume that you have taken a break from listening to Taylor Swift’s hit new album, Lover to read this, and thank you BECAUSE THIS IS IMPORTANT.

While you have been listening to Lover, you may have also been reading through some of Taylor’s old diary entries that come in the deluxe versions of the album…

You may have come across Version Two and read this beautiful entry about the time Taylor spent in Perth in 2012.

In the entry, Taylor wrote that she spent her day at Cottesloe Beach and then after she and her bandmates went to the famous Indiana Tea House, with Taylor calling it “one of the most beautiful places I’ve been” adding, “We sat there for hours drinking strawberry mojitos and eating calamari until I was so tired.”

Yeah well, Taylor’s happiness of Perth could soon be destroyed.

Billionaire Andrew Forrest has been planning for a while to reinvigorate Cottesloe’s ageing beachfront… and sadly, this could mean knocking down the iconic Indiana Tea House.

Indiana was built in 1996, and is the fourth building on the site. It is not redeveloped from a 1910 building but still plays a massive part in the historic feel of the building.

We must stop this madness.

A spokesperson for Mr Forrest’s Minderoo Group confirmed the company was in discussions back in January to take control of the lease for the land and property.

They stated, “Minderoo is keen to see the Cottesloe foreshore reinvigorated and established as a world-class attraction for the benefit of the local community and the state more broadly.

“We will support these efforts and look forward to engaging with the Cottesloe community on this.”

The community engagement and feedback process is an ongoing, and thankfully they havent made a decision whether to retain or destroy the Indiana.

But… if Taylor Swift says it’s perfect… it’s perfect.

We must keep Taylor’s love for Perth alive.
