Sydneysiders who need to travel around the city's western suburbs will soon have another mode of transportation at their disposal from July 1!

Kicking things off with a fleet of 5 buses, Bridj will begin running their services in Canada Bay, Concord, Breakfast Point, Cabarita, Mortlake and Rhodes, between 6am–11.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am–8.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The routes have been designed around public transport gaps in Sydney's west.

Run in partnership with Transport For NSW, it's the first public bus service of it kind as it works a lot like Uber!

To book a trip, all you need to do is login to the Bridj smartphone app (which is free on IOS and Android), input your destination and what time you'd like to leave, then you'll be sent a trip confirmation which includes a pick-up stop and an estimated drop-off time.

Bridj's microbuses will take different routes depending on where passengers would like to go and can be tracked via the app.

The bus is also fairly affordable, with an adult one-way trip costing only $3.10 and $1.50 for concession card holders.

You can pay with cash, card, credit card or just use your Opal card if you want to!

There are plans to add another 27 buses in Sydney in the future as Bridj evolves in the city.
