Severe storms are predicted to hit Sydney today, with the weather to set in this afternoon.
The storms are likely to affect most of the state, with strong winds, heavy rain and large hail on the cards for the Sydney Metropolitan area, Illawarra and Hunter.
The SES is advising people to move cars away from trees and unplug computers and appliances.
Earlier today, NSW Health issued a warning about poor air quality, with a dust storm predicted to hit this afternoon.
However, with the thunderstorm causing rain across the city, most of the threat from the dust storm has dissipated.
