Sydney Airport Experiencing Huge Delays After Battery Caught Fire

Beware of extensive delays at Sydney Airport as hundreds of travellers had to be evacuated after a battery caught fire after going through security.
Earlier today, firefighters arrived quickly at the scene and extinguished the fire at Sydney Airport’s international terminal. Passengers were evacuated from some parts of the airport after a fire was sparked by a dropped battery.
The terminal has since reopened and travellers are now able to re-enter customs again which is causing the major disruption.
Sydney Airport has since tweeted: “Processing has recommenced at T1 international after an issue with a battery that caused smoke in the departures area. Thank you for your patience.”
