Sub-Machine Gun Found During Central Coast Vehicle Search

Firearm 'in working order'

A shock surprise for police finding a sub-machine gun during a vehicle stop at The Entrance, on the Central Coast last night.

Officers stopped a Holden Commodore on Oakland Avenue at 7.40pm, locating the MP40 sub-machine gun with a missing barrel in a bag along with a firearm magazine and 60 rounds of various ammunition.

An initial examination finding the gun is in working order.

A 40 year old male passenger was arrested and charged with a number of firearm offences and will front Wyong Local Court today.

The machine gun will now undergo testing to determine if it is linked to any shootings.
