Pokémon Go was, and still is, a huge success all across the world.
You might think the fad has disappeared, but as an avid player I’m here to tell you that you’re wrong.
Now, Stranger Things is following in its footsteps are are set to release a Pokémon Go-like game next year that will have its fans in a frenzy!
Stranger Things will be teaming up with Next Games studios to build the location-based game that is free to play.
The game will give you the opportunity to explore The Upside Down, with 80’s-like animations.
Next Games CEO Teemu Huuhtanen revealed in a statement, “We are huge fans of Stranger Things and thrilled to work together with Netflix to bring our shared vision of Stranger Things into life in a mobile game format.
“Our core focus will be to deliver on Stranger Things’ rich and intense themes like friendship and supernatural adventure, and translate these into snack-sized entertainment on your mobile device.”
The game is set to launch in 2020, for iOS and Android.
This isn’t the first pop-fiction phenomena to follow in Pokémon’s footsteps, with the recent Harry Potter game, Wizards Unite, jumping on the trend to bring magic to everyone’s lives.
Need something to tide you over until 2020 arrives? Netflix is launching another game on July 4, Stranger Things 3: The Game, which lets you play as one of the characters and each has special moves and powers as you navigate their world.
Get your gang together and prepare yourselves.
