PolAir and the dog squad have helped catch a wanted man, following a pursuit in Lake Macquarie.
Police spotted a stolen Nissan Navara being driven on Bowman Street at Swansea at 7:25pm Friday night.
They attempted to stop the vehicle but it took off.
The ute was spotted again on Flowers Road at Catherine Hill Bay, triggering a pursuit.
The chase continued south on the Pacific Highway to Doyalson, where the ute was driven into bushland.
The Navara became bogged and the driver fled on foot.
The police helicopter and dog unit helped officers arrest the 33 year old man.
He was taken to Belmont Police Station and charged with police pursuit (Skye’s Law), take and drive conveyance, drive whilst disqualified, possession of illicit drugs, outstanding warrants, and breach of bail.
He’s off to Newcastle Local Court today.
