State Government Budget Handed Down Today

The State Government is being pressured to spend big on infrastructure for the Darling Downs in today’s budge.

Toowoomba South MP David Janetzki says the state has to chip in some cash and stop leaving things up to private enterprise.

The Toowomba South MP says he also wants to see money go towards our public transport sector.

 “We have a bus system in Toowoomba, a public transport system that is being upgraded but we’re still short of a “go card” ticketing system that allows passengers to get on and off the public transport network effectively and efficiently.

So there are other ways in which the government can invest into the Toowoomba region in this budget.  I will be keeping an eye out for that kind of investment as well.”

Treasurer Curtis Pitt will hand down the budget this afternoon.
