A 69-year-old Stanthorpe woman who was critically injured in a traffic crash north-east of Boonah on May 3 has died in a Brisbane hospital from her injuries.

The woman, the sole driver of a Barina collided with a 4WD while travelling west on Boonah-Beaudesert Road when the car struck a guardrail before colliding with a four-wheel-drive travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the 4WD was not physically injured in the accident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
