South Australian police have discovered one of the largest meth labs to ever be found in the state.

SA Police (SAPOL) seized the laboratory and a significant amount of powder, suspected of being methamphetamine following the search of a home at Morphett Vale on Sunday.

Around 120 kilograms of powder, suspected of being methamphetamine, which was undergoing a manufacturing process was seized, as well as around 11kg of what's believed to be crystalline methamphetamine commonly referred to as ‘Ice'.
Further chemicals and powders located at the scene are yet to be analysed.

“Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure and are expected to appear in court today charged with manufacturing a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, namely methamphetamine.”

“Clandestine drug laboratories pose significant risk to the community and contain corrosive, flammable and toxic chemicals that are often associated with fires and explosions,”Detective Superintendent Mark Trenwith said.
“This is a timely reminder to the community that people who seek to produce illicit drugs can face penalties up to $500,000 and or life imprisonment. I urge anyone who has information about drug trafficking or manufacture to call Crime Stoppers South Australia on 1800 333 000.”
