Being a reality TV star has its perks, right?
You get to go to cool parties, get paid to promote random things, and people will stop you on the street for a quick snap.
But with the ‘fame’ comes some downsides, like people trying to pretend to be you online.
Yes, you don’t have to be famous for this to happen to you, but damnnnn things go really wrong when someone in the public eye is imitated in this unflattering form.
Jake Ellis is the latest to fall victim to some shady sh*t, with someone posing as him online and sliding into people’s DM’s in a bad way.
Jake took to his Instagram stories yesterday to tell his followers that someone was posing as him and to beware.
The fake account adds an extra 'e' to Jake’s Instagram handle.
Real account: @jakeellis86
Fake account: @jakeeellis86
The fake user has been sliding into female followers' DM’s in a creepy way, so Jake wanted to make sure his followers steered clear of the guy/girl/whoever is behind the account.
You’d think Jake could report the account, but he can’t as the fake @jakeeellis86 blocked him…
So, ladies and gents, keep a look out for this catfish online and report, report, report!
