Simple skincare has announced the launch of biodegradable face wipes, in a move which is set to revolutionise the beauty industry - and in particular, the environmental impact of some make-up related products.

Wipes, such as make-up removing wipes, have typically been the bane of an environmentally-minded user's existence - given the fact that they are not biodegradable (meaning that they don't break down over time).

However, Simple's new range reportedly take just 42 days to compost, all while providing the same benefits as the formula on their original range.

Simple Kind to Skin Biodegradable Cleansing Wipes gently cleanse the skin of impurities and make-up, unclog pores all in the convenience of a facial wipe. Made with all the same skin-loving ingredients as our Kind to Skin wipes, our Kind to Skin Biodegradable Wipes are just as kind to your skin whilst being kinder to the planet. Made from sustainably sourced wood pulp and renewable plant fibres, our NEW Biodegradable wipes break down in just 42 days in compost.

"At Simple, we understand that face wipes have an impact on our planet, we wanted to lead the way and create biodegradable face wipes for the mass market," Simple Skincare's Brand Manager Tess Giordimania said.

"We know many consumers want the convenience of using a face wipe and don’t want to have to choose between their preferred facial cleansing format and being kind to the planet – which is why we’ve added this new option to our range."
