Shepparton's Ultimate Secret Santa

If you're stuck for gift ideas this Christmas, Australian Red Cross Blood Services has the perfect idea.

Australia's biggest ever Secret Santa is about to go down in Shepparton and Red Cross needs 180 locals to step up to the challenge and donate blood between December 21st - January 7th.

For those who rise to the occasion, a text message will be sent telling them exactly where their blood has ended up. Donors will also receive a Christmas gift tag to give to friends or family saying that blood has been donated on their behalf.

Blood Service spokesperson Shae Smith says that donating blood could be the greatest gift you give this Christmas.

"Your blood donation will be the ultimate gift to Australian patients this Christmas – and will have a far reaching impact on the lives you save, and the lives of their loved ones."
