The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay will arrive in Shepparton Wednesday February 14, where 17 batonbearers have been honoured to carry the baton through Shepparton.

From 1:30pm, the public can come together for a celebration at Victoria Park Lake, encourage our local batonbearers and share the spirit of the Relay and the Games with the community. Here, you can look forward to live music, a cultural dance performance and and a special guest speaker.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said she is delighted for Shepparton to be hosting the GC2018 Queen’s Baton Relay.

“Hosting the Queen’s Baton Relay is not only an exciting opportunity for us, it’s a way to highlight and promote Shepparton to people in Australia and the world who have been following the Queen’s Baton extraordinary journey. It’s also a wonderful way to celebrate the people that make our community great.

“I encourage all Greater Shepparton residents to come along to this community celebration, cheer on our local batonbearers and witness the Gold Coast 2018 Queen’s Baton hit our region. The celebrations will kick off at 1.30pm at the Lake, and everyone is invited to come along and enjoy the festivities. It will no doubt be a memorable experience you can share with your friends and family for a lifetime,” said Cr O’Keeffe.
