Seven Teens Charged Over Alleged Couple Attack, Theft

Seven teenagers have been charged over an alleged attack on a couple in Broadbeach over the weekend.

A man and woman were allegedly set upon by a group of men while sitting on a bench on Broadbeach Boulevard late on Friday night following an earlier incident.

One of the men is accused of pulling out a knife before the group attacked the pair, leaving the male victim with a cut to his hand and the woman with a cut to her foot, before her handbag was stolen.

Five 18-year-olds from Victoria, and two 17-year-olds, have since been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and stealing.

The 18-year-old were all due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on March 11.
