Multiple vehicles were involved in a serious, high-speed crash at an intersection in the Gatton region yesterday afternoon.

Both Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Rescue helicopters were tasked to the scene.

A patient in their 20s was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

LifeFlight’s Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter was also sent urgently to the crash scene and airlifted a patient aged in their 70s, to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter and its aeromedical crew, had just left a joint press conference with Queensland Police Service, highlighting the importance of road safety ahead of the holiday period, when they were tasked to the crash.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) were also at the scene, helping other victims.
