UK Scientists say they are one step closer to finding a cure for endometriosis.

Researchers have found a type of white blood cell, called macrophages, which they believe has mutated to cause the debilitating condition.

The team, from Warwick and Edinburgh Universities, ran various tests on mice and found that targeting the altered cells could be a new treatment.

Endometriosis affects one in ten women in Australia and mostly occurs in women in their 30s and 40s – leading to inflammation, pain and infertility.
