You read that correctly - ten years. It’s almost been ten years since the first Twilight film hit our cinemas in November of 2008 and Robert Pattinson strolled into our lives, in all his sparkly glory.
Ten years since I rushed to the cinema to satisfy my twilight addiction, dragging along my 18-year-old brother - who proceeded to clap and cheer when Bella and Edward finally kissed, because he was 'sick of the whole thing', and the whole cinema burst into laughter.
During his Twilight days, Robert was pretty private and seemed to bag the hell out of his character, Edward Cullen.
But, thanks to a recent interview, Twilight actually inspired him and made him want to pursue the career he has to date!
On the LA red carpet of his new film Damsel, E! News asked him about Twilight.
They asked the star what his fondest memory was from that time in his life.
His answer? “The whole thing.”
He continued to reveal, “That first movie was great. It was really, really fun. It was a massive turning point in my life.
"I had an entirely different life afterwards. I still wasn’t entirely sure I was going to be an actor until after that movie so I’ll always appreciate it.”
Without Twilight, we never would have seen his powerful performances in his later films.
Without Twilight, we wouldn’t still get to see his gorgeous face plastered everywhere.
Without Twilight, the man who played Cedric Diggory wouldn’t have been given the credit he obviously deserved.
Can K-Stew and R-Patz please bring out another movie this year, so we can relive the fandom of 2008 all over again?!
We’re in need of some nostalgia.
