There have been mixed results for the Central Coast in the latest crime figures, with the biggest fluctuations in robbery and pornography offences.
Across the council area, the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research shows the Coast had a higher murder rate than all of Sydney last year.
There were 2.4 murders per 100,000 people here in 2017, with the next highest figure in the Greater Sydney area being Blacktown.
However, the homicides remained stable over the two years to last December.
Meantime, robberies without a weapon have jumped 56 per cent, over that period.
It’s not all bad news though.
Pornography offences are down 37 per cent, an offence category including the possession or dissemination of child exploitation material.
While thefts on the whole have declined about 10 per cent.
All other crime types remained stable, including drug offences.
