After months of waiting, Riverdale's musical episode finally premiered on Netflix last night and although most people thought it would be extremely cringey, fans are now saying that it's possibly the best episode of the show!
The episode surrounded the Riverdale gang as they prepare Carrie: The Musical as their school performance.
If you don't already know, Carrie was actually transformed into a musical back in the 1990's and whilst it wasn't received well at the time, these days, theatre buffs love it!
One of the highlights of the episode was the fact that Carrie White's story was extremely similar to the stories of the Riverdale teens.
At the beginning of the episode, Cheryl was cast as Carrie, which makes sense considering she is also a teenager who is abused by her mother and despised by her school peers.
Betty played the good girl-next-door (no surprises there) and Veronica played the mean girl, plotting behind everyone's backs.
Sounds pretty accurate...
The episode focused on the students preparing for opening night, with musical numbers popping up both in rehearsals and in their real lives but of course, there has to be a mystery to solve, otherwise Jughead would get bored.
Jughead is filming the rehearsals as the official "documentarian" of the musical and is soon roped into a killer plot when Kevin Keller starts receiving menacing notes in his locker from the Black Hood.
But then... SPOILER ALERT... one of the students is murdered on opening night, with everyone suddenly realising that the Black Hood is still at large.
So, even though there were some cheesy scenes in the show, it was actually a pretty spectacular episode and fans have fallen in love with it:
Also, there's something an eagle-eyed viewer noticed that we definitely didn't:
So the Black Hood is officially back, but we didn't get to see Jughead sing... so there are pros and cons to this episode.
