A reptile keeper at the Australian Reptile Park has been bitten by one of the world's biggest snake species.

According to the park's website, the incident happened yesterday, with Senior Reptile Keeper Jake Meney the victim of a bite from Monster the reticulated python.

He was bitten while conducting a health check on the snake, however luckily the injuries sustained were caused by the teeth tearing at the skin and not poison.
