A quick-thinking mum in Far North Queensland has saved her family cat from the jaws of a 4.5 metre python.
Caroline sprung to action when she noticed that Twinkle Toes was being eaten by the snake outside her Innisfail home.
"While I was trying to turn on my mobile to call for help, she carried it into the kitchen and shook it until it dropped the cat," said her partner Robert.
"[She] then threw it over the balcony into the bush from whence it came."
He says Twinkle Toes is shaken up but physically okay.
"And the snake's doing fine too."
