The Queen's birthday long weekend has seen thousands honoured, with this year's Queen's Birthday Honours handed down.

 

Mount Gambier's Julienne Florence Feast, Elizabeth Anne Furner and Jack Richard Hopgood have all been recognised for their services to the community.

 

Julienne Florence Feast has worked with St Johns Ambulance, Friends of Mount Gambier Library, Mount Gambier Road Safety Group, Anglican Community Care and was the Director of Nursing at Mount Gambier Hospital from 1981 to 1991.

 

Elizabeth Anne Furner is on the list this year for service to the community through a range of organisations.

 

Mrs Furner has worked with Red Cross Australia, Rotary International District 9780, Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West and a Volunteer for Generations in Jazz since 2008.

 

Jack Richard Hopgood has been recognised for his tireless efforts over the years.

 

He has worked with the Mount Gambier Community Sub Branch of the Returned and Services League of Australia, was a member of the Mount Gambier Queen Elizabeth Parks Trust and Lakes Beautification committee, and the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce.

 

The three have received a Medal of the Order of Australia  in the General Division.
