Proposals, Shopping, And Glitter- What Will Happen When Elton Comes To Townsville

It's been 11 years since music legend Sir Elton John graced Townsville with his glittery presence, and he's about to come back!

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour will stop in Townsville on February 29, 2020 as THE act to open the North Queensland Stadium. 

Speaking with Cliffo & Gabi this morning, Elton's tour promoters Michael Chugg and Matthew Lazarus-Hall of Chugg Entertainment gave us an insight to his visit to paradise. 

Michael Chugg told us that the 72-year-old still has his shopping addiction, so make sure your shop front looks incredible! 

"He's still a shopaholic, we've had some fun in the past when loading private planes in Darwin with artwork and you can't fit it all in," said Michael. 

Gabi highlighted that Elton has spent time on Orpheous Island before, with it being mentioned previously that it's one of his favourite holiday spots- so will he get there in February?

"He's having a couple of weeks off, his kids are flying out and who knows where they'll go," teased Michael. 

Elton has made it public knowledge that this tour will be the final one, so it's extra special for fans wanting to see him on stage being his amazing self. 

"It will be the first and last time he'll play at the brand new stadium, so it's pretty exciting," said Matthew. 

With concert goers feeling the love at Elton shows, it's no surprise that proposals are a regular occurrence, and Michael and Matthew are hoping to see as many as they can in the Townsville crowd!
