The production of the planned Dora the Explorer movie on the Gold Coast has been saved thanks to Queensland Government.
After federal government failed to give the production the 30 per cent tax offset it wanted, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced Queensland would step in to make up the 13.5 per cent difference.
It's in a bid to make sure the film is shot at Village Roadshow Studios at Oxenford.
However it is expected to cost taxpayers, with the exact amount still unknown.
Production on the movie is set to get underway following the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
