Victorian Premier Dan Andrews has requested that people in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire wear a mask when unable to maintain social distancing while out in public. 

While it is not compulsory, he has asked that if you are leaving your home for one of the four approved reasons to try to wear a mask if you can. 

Victoria had 288 new cases of COVID-19. 

The four reasons to leave your home are: Shopping for food or essential items, care giving, exercise and work or study if you cannot do it from home.
