Severe thunderstorms in Esperance have caused hundreds of residents to lose power.

Residents in the west of Esperance, Salmon Gums and Condingup had lost power following lightning in the area on the morning of March 21st.

Horizon Power apologised for any inconvenience caused as a result of the outages.

As we continue to get closer to winter, residents are warned not to go near fallen powerlines, as they could still be live and dangerous.

Community residents are encouraged to stay at least 10 metres away, warn others and call Horizon Power immediately on 13 23 51.

Any faults can also be reported on 13 23 51.
