Asbestos from the Morwell Power Station demolition may not leave Morwell as originally planned.

Energy Brix is reportedly in discussion with Engie to store the fibres at the Hazelwood Power Station site.

The Latrobe Valley Express is reporting a shared cell in an old ash pond at Hazelwood would be expanded to 7,000 cubic metres to accommodate fibres from both stations.

EBAC Remediation Manager Barry Dungey says they hope to have a deal with Engie and the EPA in place by the end of next week.
