Peter Stefanovic Is Leaving Channel Nine After 15 Years
"I’ve had an amazing time at Nine"
After 15 years with Nine, journalist Peter Stefanovic has confirmed he is leaving the network, following rumours he was set to be dropped from Weekend Today.
“Peter has decided to explore new opportunities and is looking forward to spending weekends with his wife,” a Nine spokesperson said in a statement.
“He has been a respected member of the Nine News team and Weekend Today, and we wish him all the best for the future."
Peter also released a statement, reflecting on the “amazing time” he’s had with the network:
"I’ve had an amazing time at Nine being a foreign correspondent, news reporter and covering some amazing stories for 60 Minutes.
"I'll miss my friends at Nine very much, it has been a huge privilege to work alongside so many great people."
Peter first joined Nine in 2004 and quickly became one of their most well-known foreign correspondents. He later moved into bigger roles on 60 Minutes and Weekend Today.
His wife, Sylvia Jeffreys, remains the Today Show’s News Presenter.
