Grab Your Mates: The Best Road Trips Out Of Perth!
Time to get away...
With summer bringing in the sunshine and heat, one word comes to mind. ROAD TRIP (okay, that's two words).
Here are just three of the best destinations for a little weekend road trip out of the city! Take a look…
Just a couple of stipulations:
- The place must be under two hours away (you don't want to waste the WHOLE day driving, after all)
- There has to be a good enough reason to make the drive. Either the destination or the drive itself.
- We can't actually think of a third.
So - here they are, in no particular order.
1) Jurien Bay
If you haven't done the Indian Ocean Drive, you should. There's so much to check out on this epic drive, including a massive sand dune that literally comes out of the bush.
There's so many stops along the way. Yanchep, Moore River, Ledge, Lancelin, Cervantes... and the seafood at Jurien Bay is to die for.
Make sure you take your camera. There's about 5 different lookouts where you can get that killer shot!
If you fancy a little getaway for the day to check out some stuff, why not try York. A nice little drive up and over the hills to this quiet little town, full of history and interesting things to do.
If adrenalin is more your thing, they also have Skydive Express there. Bucket list anyone?
Okay, so this is a little left of field, but this sleepy little town is an awesome destination for a quiet little beach picnic with that someone special. It's literally so quiet there that it will feel like just the two of you.
Be warned though, you'd want to pack a picnic basket. There's only a small general store there.
Also, there's a golf course, if that's your thing? If not, there's a beach...
And, don't forget a stop at the Miami Bakehouse along the way. That's a given!
There's heaps more we could highlight. Roleystone is brilliant this time of year, Mundaring, Toodyay, Pinjarra, Myalup, THE LIST GOES ON!
Just grab a couple of mates, pick a destination and see this awesome state of ours.
