Perth has been thrashed with wet weather overnight, resulting in a woman having to be rescued through her window after wild winds ripped the roof off her home.

State Emergency Services attended a Mount Pleasant home about 9 pm after reports came through her son had to rescue her from the wild weather.

Police were also called to a street in Churchlands after parts of a large tree snapped off and blocked the road.

The huge tree blocked the corner of Empire Avenue and Tuscany Way, with a resident saying it fell 20 meters away from his car.

As the storm kicked on, parts of South Perth saw roads flooded with large puddles.

The cold, blustery weather is expected to rage on today with pockets of hail forecasted for the southwest corner of the State. Showers are not expected to clear until Friday night.
