Twitter has gone crazy over what some people are calling a politically correct Christmas cake – but they’ve missed on small fact.

Jason Morrison, Seven’s Director of News tweeted a photo of a “Celebration Cake” produced by The Yummy Kitchen, suggesting that cake had been renamed to be politically correct.
“Politically correct Christmas Cake at Woolworths: “Celebration Cake” he said, with a photo.

His tweet received 247 likes and more than a hundred retweets, with some people even called for a boycott of Woolies over the cake.

“The simple solution, let the 5% of the population offended by Christmas Cake buy it and the rest of us boycott Woolworths completely. This has gone too far to even be called a joke now,” suggested David Moffett.

But there’s one small issue, which many people were quick to point out: the cake is actually sold year round – for all celebrations – making the name perfectly apt for the occasion.
