Passengers were evacuated from a Boeing 737 today due to a substance found in baggage in the hold, later found to be washing powder.

 Eight fire units, police and hazmat crews were called go the plane to identify the powder while passengers were accommodated on other planes. 

The procedure is part of the regular procedure.

The plane was heading to Brisbane.
