Parts of Melbourne’s west will get a whole month’s worth of rain today .
A severe weather warning for damaging winds and heavy rainfall has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, covering most of central and eastern Victoria, as well as Gippsland districts.
This morning Melbourne city copped 15mm of rain - with high winds and flash flooding causing chaos on the roads.
But don't expect this to end just yet:
“The most west you go, the wetter it gets” Chris Godfred, BOM forecaster said.
"If you're in the city and the western suburbs it is going to continue to be wet basically for the rest of the morning. It will ease of into the afternoon but we could see rain of another 10-20mm."
Rain will continue though the morning in the city and western suburbs.
