Yesterday’s damaging winds carried on all through the night and continue this morning, leaving 39,450 properties without power during the wild weather’s peak.

SA Power Networks has confirmed 30,000 properties have been affected in the metro area alone, with State Emergency Service crews responding to 800 calls since yesterday, mostly for downed trees, power lines and ripped off roofs.

They are also urging people who spot fallen trees and damaged wires to stay clear and call 13 13 66.

A severe weather warning has been issued for nine districts today including the metro area and Mount Lofty Ranges.

More showers are on the way today after 10ml fell on the City and up to 40ml in the Hills over 24 hours.

Currently crews are out working on 260 incidents and are handing out sand bags to residents at risk of flood.

We're being warned there's more of the wintry conditions to come. 

Premier Steven Marshall has praised volunteers who have spent most of the night repairing damage and knows there's a big cleanup ahead.
