One Child Is Rescued From A Locked Car In SA Every Day

A reminder about the dangers

An alarming number of children are being rescued from locked cars in SA.

The RAA says there were 303 call-outs from January to the end of October this year, an average of one every day.

That's more than the total number for the year in the past three years.

It's a timely reminder ahead of our hot weather, but evidence shows temperatures rise quickly inside a vehicle, even on a mild day.

Kids are at risk even within the first five minutes inside a parked car where temperatures could be up to 30°C hotter than outside the vehicle.
