Norwood Parade Will Go Smoke-Free From Today
The council won't be handing out fines
Adelaide's smokers are facing a ban from lighting up along The Parade in Norwood.
Smokers will be banned from lighting-up on footpaths and in public spaces between Osmond Terrace and Portrush Road.
The council won't be handing out fines, though, instead opting for a more educational approach with signage displayed along the strip.
Butt bins have also been installed in the area.
Earlier this year, City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters mayor, Robert Bria told Triple M’s Roo & Ditts:
"We're also looking into introducing a band at Norwood oval - we'll obviously enter into discussions with the Norwood Football Club about that.
"But depending on council's decision, it could take up to six months to implement that bans."
