Big smiles for ten Mt Tamborine locals today, after winning a share in Saturday's Gold Lotto Superdraw.
North Tamborine Newsagency has been playing its weekly “Tamborine Millions” syndicate for 12 years, and it finally paid off over the weekend, winning the people who took part more than $2.25 million, or $225,000 each.
It was one of the nine division one winning entries across Australia.
In addition to winning division one, the long-running syndicate’s System 10 entry also won division three 24 times and division four 90 times.
North Tamborine Newsagency owner Jan O’Neill said her regular customers couldn't believe they had finally won.
“Most of the syndicate members have come in this morning and they can’t contain their excitement.
“The same 10 people pretty much always buy a share in the syndicate.
“It’s always bought by ten of our regular, local customers who mostly work around here.
