Newbridge have broken their 18th year premiership drought in the Loddon Valley Football League, defeating Mitiamo by 44 points in Saturday's grand final at Bridgewater.

The Maroons took advantage of the strong winds favouring the Calder Highway end - kicking 9 of their 11 goals in the 2nd and 4th quarters to roll to a 11.11.77 to 4.9.33 win.

Fullback Alex Code was adjudged best on ground by officials for holding star Superoos forward Ryan Wellington goalless and providing plenty of rebound from defensive 50.

Earlier in the day..Pyramid Hill took out the Under 18's premiership against Maiden Gully YCW 31-28 while the Bulldogs also claimed the Reserves flag following their 58-49 win over Bridgewater.

In the netball..Bridgewater claimed its first A grade premiership in 7 years after rollingt to a 39-32 win over Calivil United.

The Mean Machine holding off a late charge from the Demons to win with goal shooter Olivia Treloar winning the best on ground medal.

Bridgewater also took out the B Grade 47-43 over Maiden Gully YCW - Mitiamo narrowly won the C Grade 48-47 over Inglewood.

C Reserve went to YCW for their comprehensive 53-32 win over Pyramid Hill..Calivil United defeated YCW 60-44 in the Under 17s and YCW had a 44-35 win over Inglewood in the 15s.
