A controversial new set of traffic lights in Wagga will be officially switched on at 10 o’clock this morning, at the intersection of Docker Street and Brookong Avenue.

The lights are part of the Wagga Hospital redevelopment, aimed at better managing the flow of traffic and improving road user safety in the busy medical precinct.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson says the phasing of the new traffic lights will be linked to the lights at the Docker Street and Sturt highway intersection, to ensure a smooth flow of traffic, and will be based on traffic volumes, to be monitored and adjusted as required.
