National Cabinet will meet today with the Queensland Premier to propose a return of cruise ships Down Under.

Annastacia Palaszczuk is looking at trialling small cruises up and down the Queensland coast for fully vaxxed Queenslanders.

"I’ll put that to national cabinet as well, but I honestly think that is a great option for Queenslanders who are fully vaccinated to actually trial some smaller cruises up and down the Queensland coast," she said.

Australia is one of the very few countries where cruises are still banned, with both Princess Cruises and P&O announcing further suspensions here amid the uncertainty.

Queensland is still at least a few months off the proposal.
