Melbourne’s traffic is worse than New York and Rome, a new report has found.
The first ever Urban Mobility index has found Melbourne drivers are delayed by more than 30 minutes for every 100km they travel.
The Western Ring Road, Hoddle Street and the West Gate Freeway are among the major roads which come to a standstill.
Melbourne did perform better in other cities, rating 11th for public transport efficiency – London came in first, followed by Zurich.
The only other Australian city on the list was Sydney, who came in at 21st for Public Transport efficiency, and 28th for traffic flow.
