Mayor Anna Speedie has always pushed for one community between Albury and Wodonga. With borders closing tonight at midnight between NSW and Victoria, and with no service permits currently available, she's pushing for any options that will allow local residents to travel between the cities. 

She stated: 

"Now what we have to do is just make sure that we look at the practicalities - and that people can actually continue to get to work, and get to school, and get to their medical appointments, and all the day to day stuff of how our community works. And we know we're so integrated... it's not an easy task by any stretch."
