There's trouble in the South West wine industry.

Member for Forrest, Nola Marino, said the Turnbull Government is standing up for over 20 South West wineries which export to Canada.

A formal action has been launched with the World Trade Organization against Canada by the Turnball Government, following concerns about Canada's measures affecting Australian wine raised by the industry.

Mrs Marino says, “I’ll be working with the Minister for Trade Steven on behalf of our local wineries that export to Canada.”

“According to Wine Australia, 174,000 litres of Margaret River wine with an FOB value of over $2.1 million was exported to Canada in the year ending September 2017.

Mrs Marino has spoken of the importance of the Canadian market to the South West. "...I do not want to see these measures disadvantage our wine producers exporting to Canada...the deal is vital to the region's jobs and economic growth."
