A man has been hospitalised after he was struck by an oncoming train in Brisbane during the morning peak hour rush to work.

Ambos were called to Fortitude Valley station just after 7:10am this morning, when the man, believed to be in his 40s, suffered facial cuts after being hit by a train mirror, Brisbane Times reports.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the incident occurred when the man crossed the yellow line on the platform.

He was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

TransLink said the accident caused about 15 minutes of delays to services along the Airport, Doomben, Ferny Grove and Shorncliffe lines.
